MY GUARANTEE - All items on CSA Butternut are guaranteed to be authentic, original, and unaltered, unless clearly described as having been repaired. I do not sell fakes or fake the provenance of the items I sell. On occasion, I do sell replicas but only those that are in and of themselves historic and collectible - I do not sell reproductions or copies that could be later sold as the "real thing." I describe my items to the best of my ability and as accurately as possible. You will get what you see, clearly described, clearly photographed, and guaranteed for life to be authentic.
NO QUESTIONS ASKED RETURN POLICY - Your satisfaction with the items I sell is of great importance to me. I will refund your purchase price (less shipping and Paypal fees, if any) if you are dissatisfied with any item I have sold to you. The item must be returned in the same condition in which it left my hands (undamaged, unaltered, and not cleaned). It must be fully insured and must be returned within five days of your receiving it. Please contact me before shipping an item for refund.
PURCHASING INSTRUCTIONS - All items listed on CSA Butternut are subject to prior sale. You may use the "shopping cart" checkout system on the web site and I will contact you, usually within a day to let you know that we are processing your order. If you do not hear from me, please contact me via phone or email to verify availability before sending payment for any item. Feel free to call me for any questions about products, guarantees, layaway or purchasing instructions.
Items will be considered "pending sale" until payment has cleared my bank.
Payment is expected within 7 days of purchase. If payment is not received by that time, the item will be relisted.
I accept personal checks, cashiers checks, money orders, and credit cards through Paypal. As soon as funds clear, (generally next day for postal MO and most Paypal transactions) the items will be shipped via USPS or UPS (for larger items).

60 DAY LAYAWAY POLICY - I offer a 60-day layaway plan for your convenience. Pay one third of total purchase price with order, the next third 30 days from order date and final third 60 days from initial order date. Item(s) will be considered sold and will be shipped after final payment has cleared bank. No refunds will be given if you do not complete sale. Contact me by phone or email for further details.

ABOUT CSA BUTTERNUT - I want to take this opportunity to tell you a little about myself
I grew up on my familys farm on the Cedar Creek battlefield in Virginias Shenandoah Valley. I found my first Civil War relic - a minie ball - kicking dirt clods on my way home from school at age 8. That first little lump of lead started a lifelong hunt for more relics, at first with a metal detector and later on through buying and trading. I moved away from the Shenandoah Valley but my love for the Civil War never ended even though my collecting interests have expanded over the past 50 years to include other wars and conflicts - Indian Wars, WWI and WWII, Korea, and Vietnam. My lifelong avocation for military history and artifacts has finally become my primary occupation and I can now devote my time to maintaining this site and to acquiring and selling the rare, the uncommon, and the collectable relics you have come to expect from me through CSA Butternut.
